Prosecutor Boot Camp


Prosecutor 101: Boot Camp
March 12-15, 2018, Kansas City, MO

Designed for prosecutors (state and local, city, tribal and /or military) with 0–3 years of experience, faculty will teach trial basics you didn’t learn in law school. Discussions will include effective witness interviewing skills, creating and admitting digital evidence, planning for the difficult or recanting witness, drafting motions and writing persuasive responses to defense motions, and a Brady and Giglio primer. Faculty will lead workshops on opening statement, cross examination and closing argument techniques. This course will provide attendees an opportunity to “practice what we preach” and leave the training with time tested techniques in their tool kits!

  • Accessing and Admitting Digital Evidence
  • Brady and Giglio Disclosures
  • Admitting Hearsay 
  • Identification Procedures
  • Admitting Character Evidence
  • Protecting the Record through Proper Pleadings
  • Juvenile Prosecution: The Science & the Trial
  • Openings, Closings, and Cross: Lecture and Workshops

Course Information

CLE: Anticipated CLE credits will be 15 hours including 1 hour of ethics. NDAA will apply for CLE credit in Missouri, Virginia, Tennessee, and Ohio.  All other states ​will ​require ​the ​attorney ​to ​self-submit ​using ​their ​uniform ​certificate provided at the conclusion of the course. Eligibility: Open to lawyers in local, state, tribal, federal and military government attorneys’ offices, paralegals who work in these offices, investigators and law enforcement officers who work in prosecutors’ offices or with the local law enforcement agency.

NDAA ​adheres ​to ​a ​policy ​of ​non-discrimination ​in ​admissions ​and ​administration. The first ​attendee ​from ​an ​office ​pays ​full ​tuition; each additional attendee from the same office will receive a $50 discount when registered at the same time.

Registration fees are non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel your registration, the fees paid may be credited toward any other NDAA training within twelve months from the date of the original cancellation.
